July 4th Crafts for Kids

Spending July 4th with friends and family to celebrate our independence is one of the best parts of summer!  Cookouts, pool parties and fireworks are just a few of the ways people commemorate this important day in our nation’s history.  Let the kids add some patriotic flair with these quick and simple July 4th crafts: (click on links for directions)

CANDY BOTTLE ROCKETS

Candy poppin’ bottle rockets that will rock your 4th of July! Kids of all ages will love these candy bottle rockets!

Ingredients/Supplies:

  • Red, white or blue straws (make sure they are large enough to fill with Pop Rocks and that the holes of your Life Savers fit snugly around the straws.)
  • Pop Rocks
  • Red, white and blue Life Savers (Gummies or regular)
  • Red and blue Airhead candies

SPARKLER FIREWORK CRAFT

Fireworks that aren’t a fire hazard!  The best part is that you can make them with materials you probably have in your house already.  Why buy decorations for your table when you can have the kids create them for you?

Supplies:

  • Colored cellophane sheets
  • Tin foil
  • Sticky tape
  • Scissors

EASY PATRIOTIC CENTERPIECE
